The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
For nearly a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through nearly a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
As Scouters in Northwest District, we work together with a cooperative spirit and mutual respect, responsibility, and accountability. Our attention is focused on assuring that the Scouting program is the premiere youth organization in our communities.
Our program actively teaches cooperative values through a focus on physical activities done outdoors or for the benefit of others. Leadership, civic responsibility, and problem solving skills are some of the positive serendipities of membership in a Scout unit. These units, groups coordinated by age and interest, range from Cub Scouts for younger boys to Venturing, a co-educational opportunity for youth aged 14 to 20.
